My interest in cooking was evident at a very young age, along with an interest in art- sketching, fashion & shoe design, architecture, photography, and another favourite, cars. I took advantage of almost every opportunity by helping, or simply just watching my mom prepare the various dishes, dishes that I still enjoy preparing.

Margie, as she was known by many, was all too familiar with the Malay/Muslim style of cooking. A muslim lady, who went by the name of Amatie [Aisa Jardine, nee Warley] taught my mom how to cook, and over the years I put my own spin on it.
