About Me

My interest in cooking was evident at quite a young age alongside my interests in art-sketching, fashion & shoe design, architecture, photography and an all-time favourite, cars. I enjoyed watching my mom prepare the various dishes, and there were times when I would also assist in the preparation.

Margie, as she was fondly known by many, was all too familiar with the Malay style of cooking, and we have Amatie (Aisa Jardine, nee Warley) to thank for this, who taught my mom how to cook and bake. By the time I left the nest, I was able to prepare most of the dishes, and over the years put my own spin on it.
We all have our own unique way of preparing and creating certain dishes. Do not be afraid to play around with a recipe, as most recipes are used as a guideline.

Be daring when attempting any recipe, improvise.

A very big thank you from the bottom of my heart goes out to my mom*, who not only shared her recipes and knowledge of food, but also showed me how to cook and bake. Mom died before my book was completed and would have loved for her to see it come to fruition, but I know she’s watching from above. Last, but not least, a special thanks to Robin**, who told me to take pictures of the dishes prepared, unknowingly that it would be featured in my first recipe book. I’ve selected a few that includes the date stamp as a reminder. Who would have thought that a few years on, this will be a reality!
